1. What did you have for breakfast this morning? If you didn't have breakfast, why not? Twining's Earl Grey tea with real cream and sugar. My alternate is usually an Atkins shake. I get up so late in the day, I rarely eat a big breakfast because my husband likes to eat dinner early.
2. What's your favorite cereal? I'm not real big on cold cereal. My favorite childhood cereals are Lucky Charms and Corn Pops. Grownup cereal is probably Rice Chex.
3. How often do you eat out? Do you want that to change? We eat out and order in a lot, probably about four nights a week minimum, and we like it that way. Houston is the 'dining out' capitol of the nation... and I think we just won the award for the fattest city too :-(
My husband's birthday is this weekend and we have friends in town from New Orleans also, so we'll be eating out for the whole weekend and Monday, which is his actual birthday. And with his mom midweek, he's a popular guy!
4. What do you plan on having for dinner tonight? Got a recipe for that? We had ravioli stuffed with chicken and herbs, with alfredo sauce and garlic breadsticks. The pasta & sauce is from the dairy section of Kroger's and the breadsticks are from Pillsbury. I make a killer Alfredo sauce from scratch, I use real butter, cream and I get the grated Kraft Italian cheese (mozzarella and parmesan) because it melts really well. Add a little black pepper and a dash of nutmeg and you're done.
5. What's your favorite restaurant? Why? I have several favorites... Our favorite Tex-Mex restaurant is Ninfa's. We've been going to the various locations for years and the quality and service are pretty steady. We also know a lot of the managers and waitresses on a first name basis so that's nice. I love beef fajitas and they have the best. (And they're not nearly as trendy and noisy as some of the other popular chains here in town).
Our favorite Chinese restaurant is Fung's Kitchen. It's about as authentic as you can get, the majority of their customers are Chinese, they have the largest selection I've ever seen at any restaurant, and their quality is consistent. We're regulars also, so everyone there know us. One night when we were eating dinner Marvin Zindler and his entourage came in to eat, so that should tell you something ;-)
Favorite Thai is Thai Pepper in Montrose, Favorite Italian is Macaroni Grill, Favorite Fast Food is James Coney Island, Favorite American comfort food - the 59 Diner, Favorite barbecue - Luther's.
