I knew I forgot something yesterday - Friday Five:
1. Explain why you started to journal/blog. I’ve had a huge website for over five years and needed a place to put all of the thoughts in my brain that didn’t have any relevant place on my website, and I wanted to get back into the habit of writing regularly and taking creative photos. I also need a place to vent on current events on a regular basis and I want more “about me” stuff on my site for the people who’ve been visiting me all these years, something a little more personal.
2. Do people you interact with day to day or family members know about your journal/blog? Why or why not? Some of my friends know about it (though they've never mentioned reading it, I think they have better things to do), and there are links to my blog on my main website. None of my direct family are computer literate, fortunately. I wouldn’t mind having a completely anonymous journal to really be able to vent, though...
3. Do you have a theme for your journal/blog? Just kind of “my life, my opinions”. Lots of women’s issues, politics, some Goth talk, my bizarro dreams, music and books I like, artsy photos.
4. What direction would you like to have your journal/blog go in over the next year? I’d like it to be a good “about me” source for my website as well as a place for open-minded people to come for news, cool links. I’d like to make it more stylish but still easy to read and navigate (I’m still learning the programming languages for Movable Type).
5. Pimp five of your favorite journals/blogs. I love flipping though other people’s blogs and seeing what they have to think about the world and the fabulous styles. Here are some of the better ones I’ve come across since I’ve been blogging:
Here Kitty KittyJust downright fabulous, one of her many sites. Read her “100 things” list, very interesting.
The Mousetrap I think this is Kitty’s mom from what I’ve read. I found her through the Ageless Project and couldn’t resist checking out a 70-something liberal woman’s view of the world and internet
Fresh, Hot Wastes of Time Blog of a fellow Texan
Brutally Honest Artsy photos and blogging
Delerious Cool another uber-chick blog!
