Abuse Hotline 1-800-525-5400. 24 hour hotline to report suspected abuse and neglect of children and people with disabilities

Child Abuse Prevention Hotline 1-800-4-A-CHILD. 24 hour hotline to prevent abuse provides counseling, information and referral

Covenant House 1-800-999-9999. 24 hour emergency shelter for youths aged 20 and under provides counseling, clothing, food, GED classes, parenting classes and vocational assistance

United Way Helpline 1-800-833-5948. Telephone counseling and referral service

Focus Adolescent Services 1-877-362-8727. A free national service providing resources, information and support to parents and professionals dealing with out-of-control and struggling teens.

Streetwise Houston 713-942-9884. Drop-in center for youths aged 13-23 provides outreach into gay and lesbian community, food, showers, HIV testing and counseling. Open 1 pm-7 pm seven days a week.

Community Youth Services for Truants and Runaways 713-664-5701. Provides practical assistance to teenagers and their families who are experiencing personal problems
